Last weekend I was travelling, and this week has been taken up with work so far. I haven’t made much writing progress, but with all that time spent travelling I did get more reading done in a few days than I have in weeks. I finished ‘Golden Son’ which I’ll review tomorrow, as well as Hemingway’s first novel ‘The Sun Also Rises’ and a long-ish short story by Stephen Crane called ‘The Blue Hotel.’ That last one was an unusual story that I’m still processing, so I’m not sure when I’ll get around to reviewing it, but I’m certainly glad to add it to my read list. It comes from Hemingway’s list of sixteen books that he once recommended to an aspiring writer, a list I plan on working my way through as time goes on. Some of them, like the Russian novels he has on there, will probably take me a while. Should be fun though!
Well I’ve got to make up for lost time on the writing front now, so back to it!
Thank you for reading,
Benjamin Hawley
