Next weekend I’m going to be taking on another pro-judged Writing Battle! Since the last one finished, I’ve been working on short fiction pretty consistently, although most of it has ended up in the slush pile as per usual. Hopefully all the practice will give me an edge this time around. I’m gonna shoot for gold! I see no reason not to bring my A game and try to get all the way to the top this time. It’s no longer my first rodeo, and the Rocky theme has been playing in my head for about a month straight.

This time my strategy is a little altered. I realized the importance of choosing a good prompt right off the bat and committing to a story when last time I felt that one more day or two could have given me just enough polish to get from top sixteen to a position that gets a payout. This time I’m going to waste no time, and I’ll be focused on the story for the week-long writing period. Other than that, I’ll just have to do my best. Should be a lot of fun, and of course I’ll have updates throughout the whole process from getting my prompt right up till the winners are announced. Next Sunday can’t come fast enough!
